Wahoo Masters Swimming Club.

Founded in 1996 under the name Linrand, which became Wahoo Masters Swimming Club in 2004, when we changed our home, to the State Of The Art Wahoo Aquatics Centre (indoor) Pool in Sunninghill, Sandton, Gauteng. https://wahoo.co.za/

Wahoo Masters is affiliated to GMS, CGA, SAMS, AG & SSA and is for swimmers of any skill level, between the ages of 18-118. For the competitive swimmer there are several Pool Gala’s throughout the year, culminating with the end of season S A Masters National Championships, being the highlight on the Swimming Calendar. Nationals, is held at a different venue around SA each year, using a 50m Olympic Standard Pool under SSA & FINA rules. Swimmers compete in age groups, set at five year increments, e.g. 25-29, 30-34 etc., against South African & visiting International Swimmers. There is also an Open Water Swim, with a 1km and 3km Event.

Wahoo Masters Swimmers have excelled at our annual Nationals Champs, as well as Fina World Masters, held every alternate year in the same Country and Pool, following FINA World Champs.

The Club has a good relationship with Wahoo Aquatics who offer Coaching for Masters Swimmers

Masters swimming is about encouraging and promoting Fun, Fitness and Fellowship, with the primary motivation being to enjoy the benefits of leading a healthy life style. 

Swimming is a non-impact sport and an essential life skill, which one can participate in until any age.
